School

The children are the future of Ukraine. It is they, who shall take the country further into the future. It is central for the Village Development Fund to support education and the welfare of children.

The village school fills an important function in the village. It is in many ways the life source for the village since it enables young families to stay on in the village and provides a new educated work force. For many the shutting down of the village school is a sign of the decline of the village. The Village Development Fund actively supports the local schools by investing in IT, repair of the school house. In a village, where the school is a far away, young families can still have a comfortable life if there is a safe and functioning bus taking the children to school. Today computers also play a crucial role in education and the DV-fund considering projects providing computers and internet connection to schools. In many villages the building, which houses the school, has not been repaired for decades and do not meet standards for work environment and safety.  The main tasks of theVillage Development Fundin this area is to provide schools and pre-schools with civilized premises, equipment, internet connection; scholarship program and support for the teachers.
